This Privacy Policy describes how PickleHere ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the PickleHere application and website (collectively, the "Service").

PickleHere is a hobby project that helps pickleball players in Taiwan see live court activity and check in at courts. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the Service.

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account information when you sign in via Google or LINE: your name, email address (Google only), and profile picture, as provided by the authentication provider.
• Profile information you set within PickleHere: display name, optional DUPR rating, optional DUPR profile URL, language preference, and anonymity preference.
• Check-in records when you check in or out of a court: the court, timestamp, and whether you checked in anonymously.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device location if you grant permission, used only to display your position on the map and calculate distance to nearby courts. Location is not stored on our servers.
• Authentication session cookies to keep you signed in across visits.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Payment information (the Service is free).
• Social security numbers, government IDs, or financial data.
• Health information.
• Detailed browsing history outside of PickleHere.
• Phone numbers, postal addresses, or contact lists.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate you when you sign in.
• Display live activity at pickleball courts (your check-in count contributes to public counts; your name only appears in court player lists if you have not enabled anonymity).
• Allow you to track your own playing history (sessions, courts, time played).
• Communicate with you about the Service if you contact us.

We do not use your information for advertising or marketing. We do not sell your data.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We share information only with the following third-party services that are necessary to operate PickleHere:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PickleHere, our users, or others.

5. Your Choices and Rights

5.1 Anonymity

You can enable "anonymous mode" in your profile settings. When enabled, your check-ins do not display your name to other users—the public count still increments, but your identity is hidden.

5.2 Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at the address below. We will delete your data within 30 days of receipt of your request.

5.3 Access and Correction

You can view and update most of your information directly in the app's profile screen. For other requests, contact us.

5.4 GDPR (EU Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us.

5.5 CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell). To exercise these rights, contact us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or operational purposes.

Check-in records are retained for as long as your account exists, since they form part of your playing history.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic.
• Encrypted storage at our infrastructure providers.
• Authentication via established providers (Google, LINE).
• Row-level security policies at the database level.

No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

PickleHere is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

PickleHere is hosted on infrastructure that may be located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those locations.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
